pokemon sun & moon anniversary
as of the day i'm posting this, it's the 8th anniversary of the release of pokemon sun and moon! this generation is one of my favorites, because i love tropical themes (if you can't tell by, well.... my entire site here lol), and i find the storyline really compelling. i relate to lillie's family situation quite a bit, i won't get into it here, but if you know you know.
the first time i played moon version (right around release), it didn't really grab me. i guess i was going through some depressive issues at the time, and had a difficult time getting excited or connecting to anything. but i went back and played it in 2018, and it has since been my favorite alongside generation 2. i love that the beach levels in new pokemon snap had so many of the cute alola guys-- the area with pyukumuku playing on the rocks is one of my favorite photo ops in the game.
sun/moon also brought one of my favorite human characters, i really like nanu. a grouchy old man with lots of cats, it's like they designed him especially for me 😌 lol. a lot of the other character designs in this generation are cool, and i would like to cosplay wicke at some point. a lot of my friends suggested that to me when the game first came out, but i wanted to wait until the hype around her died down a bit. also, i live in a warm climate for now, and her outfit would be uncomfortably warm for most of the year. (i always wondered how she manages living on a tropical island in that outfit lol, maybe aether paradise offices are very cold.) i'd like to put that one together in 2025, since i'll be living somewhere cooler by then!
and of course because i love seals and the color blue, i love popplio, brionne, and primarina. they don't seem to get as much merchandise as a lot of other starters, but i've managed to collect as many as i can so far. i decided to take photos of all my popplio family guys, and post them here.
i have a few more not pictured (mostly re-ment), but they're packed up for moving as of writing this. it will be quite a while until i can unpack those, but i will try to remember to go back and add them at that time. they are visible in the whole shelf photo over in my general pokemon collection gallery, along with my nanu and lillie merchandise.
