office building near my local station. currently houses a majongg parlor and a cell phone store. build date unknown. difficult to find information due to extremely generic development name.

miyazaki children's culture center, miyamae-ku, kawasaki

community center in my neighborhood. built in 1990 as part of an initiative to provide third spaces and cultural development for children. a private/public partnership with the city runs this place to host lots of activities for local children.

senior citizens' home of rest and relaxation, miyamae-ku, kawasaki

built date: 1993
community center in my neighborhood. similar to the children's center, but created as a third space for locals over 60. one of several in the area. they host social events, and the building includes a performance stage, a reading room, and a club room. i love the early 90s pastel color palette on the exterior.

huge office building in shin-yokohama. home to a renovation contractor, a temp agency, a parts prototyping company, and many others.

"tube arrow," shibuya-ku, tokyo

spotted once on my way back from angelic pretty shibuya. the retro art on the facade of the building was installed in recent years as part of a project to indicate the locations of evacuation shelters in a people-friendly and aesthetically pleasing way. this one was designed by artist hiro sugiyama. inside the building is office space, including a cleaning service headquarters.
