last saturday, the alola pokemon fit plush were released at the pokemon center. i hopped online at the moment of release, waited 49 minutes in the online queue... and ordered my four most wanted plushies. i got popplio, brionne, primarina, and nihilego. they were released at the physical pokemon store locations that same day, but i can barely tolerate the pokemon center on a normal weekend, much less a highly anticipated plush release.
buuuut i decided on monday to go to the yokohama center, to check out all the new plushies and maybe pick up a few. i brought my east sea gastrodon plush in his cute little seria raincoat, since it was raining that day. at the center, i got celesteela, pyukumuku, and spinarak pokemon fit, as well as a couple of re-ment blind boxes. luckily, i got the two i wanted most from the set-- primarina and sylveon. i only buy blind boxes if i'd be happy to get basically any of the potential items, but naturally i wanted primarina the most. ofc i had to take the obligatory photo of my haul with the skybridge pokemon mural. the cute popplio on the wall is from a foyer downstairs in the same building.

we went to the surugaya downstairs of the pokemon center too, i usually always check that out when i'm there. i found a cute queen's blade book (photo further below), but was honestly a bit disappointed because i didn't find much from the series i like. i told my husband i'm kinda sad that a lot of the things i like are out of style now. kancolle only has two pegs on a merch wall-- i was telling him it makes me sad how much kancolle fell off.. i didn't even play it myself, but i feel nostalgic for the time when a lot of my friends were playing it haha. i still think a lot of the character designs from it are cute.
after pokemon center and surugaya, my husband and i grabbed lunch at kura, and went to an airsoft shop he'd been wanting to check out. we still felt like running around some more, so i navigated us to a huge bookoff in kawasaki that had impressed me when i visited in january.
and that bookoff did not disappoint-- i walked to the back wall in their 'retro anime corner,' to find dejiko right at my eye level, and rabi~en~rose a little higher up! i was tempted by that pocket pikachu too, but it was a bit pricy for an impulse buy. i got the same one for christmas as a kid, months before i even knew what pokemon was. my mom got it for me just because i was super into virtual pets at the time. i also grabbed that cute choco banana seal figure

i also got a buster doll model kit for myself, and a model kit from all the way back in the 1980s for my husband! it's from macross, his favorite since childhood. i'm gonna help him frame both the box and the model in a shadowbox after he builds it. while we were waiting for the bus home from bookoff, i checked mercari to find an ikki tousen figure i'd been wanting since wayyy back in my sophomore year of college, for surprisingly cheap. (no box, but i don't care about that). i still had a lot of mercari balance from sales this week, so i ordered her right away. between all the places we visited on monday, we walked like 20,000 steps haha. very fun and full day, the first time i've done a big adventure since my sinus surgery a couple weeks ago.

the next day we mostly just stayed home and did chores. our only real outing was going to the combini to pay for an AP skirt + headbow set i bought. i was really excited to see alstroemeria, one of my favorite flowers, growing wild on our walk. this cute kappa is nearby the combini too.

another ikki tousen figure i got from fleamarket app arrived after i got home-- she came without a stand, but i was able to fix it. i had this spare stand from a figure that doesn't really need one since she's posed lying prone. after a little drilling and refinement, i was able to get ms ryomou standing perfectly

some shoes i ordered from a taobao shopping service arrived as well. i've been wanting to wear this 2000 release meta skirt for a while now, but i realized recently that i no longer had any shoes to match it after selling a lot for the move. they came with some clip on bows but i think those are kinda fuggo. without the bows, they're perfect-- super comfortable too. i'm really looking forward to wearing lolita out again, once my face is finally healed after my sinus surgery. should be soon!

one of the nice things about living on a little island is that even normal mail can get here within a day or two. the AP skirt i bought yesterday morning came today from chiba, on the other side of tokyo from me.... it's absolutely gorgeous. i had been eyeing a xianyu listing for the sax jsk from this same release for a while, but it was a bit too expensive for me to be willing to pull the trigger. this one came up on mercari, in better condition, and more reasonably priced. (wasn't sure the JSK would fit my bust anyway, this one fits my waist just fine.

this now makes four sax blue, mid-late 2000s, angelic pretty piece with this exact tulle fabric in my wardrobe. my very own hyper niche fashion aesthetic lol

i've been doing a lot of cleaning today. i've only been keeping up with light tidying and laundry for the most part since my sinus surgery, and today i was feeling well enough to really tackle the whole house. i had been kinda stressed and unhappy surrounded by untidied shelves and dusty corners, so i'm feeling relieved and accomplished now. in addition to our tatami floors, all the scrungly little corners of the house, and a lot of laundry, dejiko and rabi~en~rose got a good scrubdown too. they looks so sweet and bright now! dejiko's little paw boot toes are no longer grey...

more fast shipping excitement, the ryofu housen figure i ordered on monday came in today. i've been reorganizing my perfume shelf since i haven't been fully happy with it yet, and put her next to it on a whim. i think she looks super cute with these bottles, and will probably keep her there.
i also received a set of three small queen's blade figures. tbh i bought the set just for menace, although it also came with echidna (who i like because she was designed by the same illustrator as menace), and tomoe (who i don't really have any strong opinion on one way or another). there's some queens blade characters i find kinda ugly (cattleya
) or annoying (nanael
) so i'm glad the others in the set are ones i'm at minimum neutral on lol. they weren't on MFC, so i dug up archived info and added all three to the database. (images in the link can be nsfw, i tried taking a relatively sfw pic of the menace figure here.)

i really like menace, i collect as much merch of her as i can get, and have made cosplays of three versions of her- the original design, and a schoolgirl and golfer version from art books by her creator. i've only gotten to wear the original so far, but i'm looking forward to wearing the others (and the original again) to an event here at some point. especially since i'm more likely to get recognized here-- everyone back in the US said "cool ankha!" when i wore menace before lol. i just said thanks, i don't like being pedantic to strangers and ankha is cute anyway. just happy to get positive feedback from ppl tbh.
and... one last exciting arrival today, i got the pokemon plush i had ordered on saturday
i posted before about collecting popplio + evos merch, and how i feel they don't get enough merch. i've been anticipating the alola fit wave just for these cuties. i also got nihilego, my favorite ultra beast.

this entry is long and picture-heavy enough as is, so i'll share the out of box pics of them at another time. i'll see if i can find a cute water feature for photos of them.
