listening: 12 girls band - beautiful energy
watching: rain out the window

i mostly stayed home this week (more on why later in the post), but i feel like i still managed to keep busy and have some fun.
on sunday, i went down to the area around kawasasaki station in lolita, my first time wearing lolita since moving here. unfortunately i got on the wrong bus, and spent an hour and a half riding a crowded and much slower bus to kawasaki station instead of taking the bus to musashi shinjo and hopping the train to kawasaki.
so by the time i got to kawasaki station, i was kinda overwhelmed and my feet were already starting hurt. i just walked around one of the department stores, and got a bath bomb at LOFT. the ones with little figures inside are a vice of mine lately lol.
after getting home, i created my new coordinates page and posted the coord i wore that day.

monday was even more exciting, though-- i managed to get my hands on the hospitality doll blouse from that morning's wunderwelt drop! it was suprisingly reasonably priced (compared to recent hospitality doll sales), and i can't believe i was fast enough at checkout to make it mine. i mentioned before in my spotlight post on nurse and medical themes in lolita that hospitality doll has been a longtime favorite design of mine.
i already have the pink ring that matches this colorway, and would love to track down the black skirt if possible. i'm glad i have little nurse with me instead of in my seamail moving boxes, because i think it's really cute to see these two together. little nurse is such a love letter to hospitality doll.

as delighted as i am to have it, and as reasonably priced as it was for this item, i blew my entire entertainment budget on this blouse lol. so i spent the rest of the week on activities at home, or activities that are both walking distance and free to do.
after the morning's shopping excitement, i spent the rest of my day labeling minidiscs i've burned. i recently found out that my stereo can dub CDs over to minidisc, but i still have to manually label the tracks using my laptop. i also cataloged the part of my CD collection that i have here in japan (the rest is in seamail boxes) over on discogs. a few of my CDs aren't documented on there at all, and i will eventually need to add those to the site.

i got nice CD rack and a couple of MD racks with some of my mercari sales proceeds. i especially like the CD rack, with the seaglass-looking plastic trays to hold the albums. i use it for the paper sleeve albums that otherwise get pushed to the back of my CD shelf, and some of my more heavy rotation albums.

if i have a lot of time at home with no cleaning to do, generally i find myself cataloging and working with info and collections for fun
so after doing a lot of music cataloging the day before, i spent tuesday taking photos of hair accessories for lolibrary.

since a lot of my wardrobe consists of older items, i enjoy updating the photos for lolibrary with higher resolution images. so many of these older pieces have details and textures that are lost to time in the old 400px shop images.

on wednesday, and off and on throughout this week, i've been working on making accessories for my pokemon fit plush using AP sample scraps that i've gathered over the years. this is the project i mentioned in my previous blog. so far i've made a jewelry jelly headbow for dunsparce, 90% completed a memorial cake headdress for mew, and i've started a jewelry jelly half bonnet for chikorita.

i feel like i haven't had much opportunity to craft during the move and since moving until now, so it's been nice making stuff for once. there's a community of adult pokemon collectors on bluesky who take photos of pokemon fit plush, and a lot of them make little outfits or accessories for their plush too. i've found it inspiring.

my aquarium has been doing well, water numbers are stable and the animals seem active and healthy. the snails may be a bit too active-- i've been scraping most of their eggs off the glass so that they don't overpopulate. i did let some mature and hatch, though! it was cool to watch them grow.

i also found my PS2 after all!! i did receive the box it came in, but apparently i was so tired and distracted that i just dumped more stuff into that box instead of unpacking it
glad i found that out, because it also had some one of a kind binders i made of my favorite pokemon cards, and some missing parts to a figure that i had already found and unpacked.

lately i've been saving up my rewards points on shopping/fleamarket apps, as well as physical coins, with the specific goal of grabbing under-1000円 (7 USD) CDs and games. the CD i'm listening to as of writing this was something i got on this plan, a 300円 album off rakuten, by a group that plays traditional chinese instruments. the CD has been cool to listen to; i especially love their cover of "take five."
a lot of the interesting games i've found have been for PS1 and PS2, so i'm excited to be able to pick up and play some of them now. i'm trying to intentionally get games and music i'm unfamiliar with, so i have a low stakes way to try totally new things and expand my interests. the latest game i got is "poison pink" for PS2, 500円 on fril heheh. the reviews for it are.... interesting. the art style is stunning, so i'm looking forward to checking it out myself. reviews don't actually mean much to me
(it hasn't arrived just yet; these are the seller's photos.)

yesterday, i walked to a local park to check out the sakura. i saw some last year in tokyo, but this was my first time getting up close to them. they're not fully bloomed just yet, but already beautiful. there's a sakura festival tomorrow by the station, i'm considering going if the weather is decent.

this is where i'll wrap up for now. the cats are coming soon, in just over a week. i spent a lot of energy this week getting some paperwork corrected, because we found out last-minute that the vet had miswritten ketchup's microchip number on an important form. luckily the CDC lab was able to issue a corrected version of the form, and everything is back on track. i can't wait for my husband and cats to join me here, so our family is complete again.
